The Magical Forest

The Magical Forest never disappoints and this year was no exception. Last year Jordan liked it, but this year was especially fun since Jordan could run around with excitement. Below dad and Jordan in candy cane land.Mom and Jordan posing with the snowman, who looked innocent enough until we got close to it, then Jordan couldn't get far enough away.
Dad and Jordan riding together on the cutest little train that takes you around the village to enjoy the sites.I really appreciate the people who offer to take the family photos for us, but honestly, why would you take a horizontal picture when we're standing in front of a 12' high Christmas tree. The pièce de résistance of course was the carousal. Once scared to death of them, the carousal has now become Jordan's favorite (thank you Disneyland). When ever she gets off she says, "Carousal. All by myself," or something that sounds like that. So now my genius daughter has a way of shortening her message to just "Carou-self." Works for me.

Think Pink

Today's ultrasound revealed that baby #2 will be another princess rather than a prince. I couldn't be happier and Ben, although glad the baby's healthy, couldn't help but show his disappointment that it wasn't a boy. He put his head down and shook it in disbelief. He said promptly after that I would need to find another place to sleep for the next couple of weeks. I've chosen Jordan's Little Tikes house in the backyard.

"Make-a Craps"

The other day Jordan and I went to Michael's Craft to get some Christmas craft making supplies. A day or two passed and we never got the opportunity to work on our crafts. A few days later Jordan said, "Make-a craps!" I kept asking her to repeat herself, because I didn't understand what in the world she was saying. I asked if she needed to go "pooh-pooh." She said, "NO! Make-a craps." Then I realized she was trying to say, "crafts." What foresight my daughter has to be calling our attempt at crafts "craps" before we had even started!Craft making, Jordan style: Mom decided we'd make some felt Christmas tree ornaments. I cut out our simple triangle shaped "trees" and red circle ornaments, with the hope that Jordan could place the ornaments where she wanted them and I'd glue them on. I quickly noticed that we needed to stiffen up our triangle trees if they were going to hang properly on the Christmas tree. I cut triangles out of poster board and sandwiched them between the two green triangles and glued them together. We were ready for the ornaments.

I told Jordan to put the red circles on the tree and then I'd help her glue them down. I went off to do dishes and left her to the "craps." A few minutes later I looked over to see she had torn apart all the Christmas trees and the poster board triangles were scattered about. "I found the triangles mommy. Look, I found them." As she held up the poster board triangles. Apparently there was a little miss communication. Make next year we'll have better luck with the "craps."

Winner, Winners, Loser!

Well, it's been a week of competitions and for the most part we came up victorious. At the Mars "Boo Bash" Jordan won the costume contest for her age group! It was very exciting and she came away with a gift card to Blockbuster. I mean honestly, was there really any competition? WINNER:Mom and dad won 'Scariest Costume' at their friends Halloween party too! I just wanted an excuse to show off my friend Andrea's amazing award ribbon.
WINNERS:
LOSER:
Sadly, our families only defeat came at 7 am on Saturday morning. I played in a singles tennis match and after battling for 2 hours and 15 minutes, my old, pregnant body could do no more. I lost in the tie break 8-10. I guess 3 victories in one week would have just been too much.

Happy Halloween!

Jordan was not a fan of the pumpkin innards during our FHE pumpkin carving activity. Ben told her to reach in and grab some. She shook her head and said, "No. I can't." Funny, I get the exact same response when I ask her to help clean up her toys.
Halloween started off with the ward "trunk-or-treat." We tried to legitimately win a cupcake on the 'cake walk', but after two tries (about 25 seconds) she gave up and just stole one off the table. Can you blame her?Jordan (sans hat that lasted 30 min), with friends Ava and Olivia.
"Trick-or-Treat!"
The morning after, bed head and all. Checking out the goods, while mom secretly removes all candies with peanuts and any that she feels would benefit the growth and development of baby #2.

We heart Mars!!! (not the planet)

Did I mention that Ben works for the best company? Mars generously gave us two, yes two, 23 lbs. boxes of M&M's for trick-or-treating. Little did they know that we got 6 treat or treaters, which equals a lot of leftovers. Guess what everyone's getting for Christmas?
We also got these adorable little M&M figures to give to friends. Finally, we got a Department 56 M&M house/candy dish (not pictured).
Mars also had a "Boo Bash" for all the employees and their families! How fun! Jordan liked meeting her 'M' friends at first but then decided they were scary and wanted nothing to do with them.
Jordan loved the jump house.
Mom and Jordan went fishing for prizes!

Disneyland!!!

We took a quick trip to Disneyland to experience Halloween Time. Enjoy a few of the pics from our adventure.

Jordan was able to have her picture taken with some of her favorite friends from Disney's Playhouse.

One of these kids is doin' her own thing. One of these kids just isn't the same. C'mon Jenny, its Eeyore, wipe that smile off of your face.

The live version of Disney's Playhouse is one of Jordan's favorites.

Jordan and Jenny were able to go out into the street during the Disney Parade and shake their groove thangs.

This about sums it all up.
What everybody else doesn't know is that it is much more comfortable to sleep with your blanket up your nose. Just ask Jordan.
